OUR three WINGs

Do not rush for jobs anymore, creating entrepreneur more than more!

As the operational area of SIRI is considered a "hard-to-reach" zone in development terms, access to support and training in areas such as Online Outsourcing, Digital Marketing, Basic Modern English Grammar, Spoken English, and a platform for practical learning, Handicraft Production, and Marketing is extremely limited. Recognising the needs of the local community, SIRI has established three distinct wings to provide these services and training. These initiatives also aim to foster career development, which was previously unavailable in this area. The three wings are named SIRI Online, Handy, and EngCrazy. Brief descriptions of each of these wings are provided below.

SIRI Online

"SIRI Online" is a social entrepreneurial wing of SIRI that provides support in ICT services and training for local youth and women. It offers computer training, digital marketing courses using smartphones, photo-videography and editing, online outsourcing, and SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) to educated unemployed youth, enabling them to become Smart Entrepreneurs. Through this wing, SIRI offers minimal fee or free training to youth and women, with special priority given to those living in CHAR and Dam areas. SIRI also provides year-round support to the trained youth and women in their ICT-based entrepreneurial activities, helping them become income-oriented Smart Entrepreneurs. Underprivileged women are given priority in all training programs aimed at women’s empowerment. Additionally, SIRI Online assists other NGOs in implementing their projects both technically and programmatically and helps design and implement innovative projects for the betterment of the area.

Under this wing, SIRI has successfully implemented several projects, such as the "Online Outsourcing for Youth" and "Blended Education," which combines practical science experiments using low-cost materials with ICT-based education for primary and secondary level students. Additionally, the organisation had the opportunity to provide technical support to the project "Online Video Tutorial for Science Laboratory Experiments," funded by the “Access to Information (a2i)” Programme and later supported by the “ICT Division,” Agargaon, Dhaka.

Handy

“Handy” operates as a social entrepreneurial programme focused on supporting women handicraft entrepreneurs. SIRI connects these entrepreneurs to local, regional, and national markets, helping them increase product sales at profitable prices. Online shopping has seen significant growth in recent years, particularly following the Coronavirus pandemic. However, rural marginal entrepreneurs are losing a substantial share of their sales and marketing opportunities due to limited knowledge of digital marketing skills and the inability to operate smart devices.

To address this, Handicraft has launched an online social media page to enhance the sales of rural entrepreneurs by analysing the current shopping trends of targeted customers. Entrepreneurs with access to smart devices and the internet are connected to popular Facebook Groups and Pages with the support of Handicraft. They are introduced to digital marketing techniques and smart device usage, with some even joining the digital marketing chain. This initiative enables handicraft entrepreneurs who previously had no access to the supply chain or digital marketing to scale up their operations. Currently, a total of 854 female handicraft entrepreneurs are actively working in the rural areas of Saghata Upazila.

EngCrazy Academy

People are crazy about learning English! To ensure that students of all levels in rural areas have the opportunity to learn Modern English, SIRI launched EngCrazy Academy, a wing offering courses in Basic English Grammar and Spoken English. EngC Academy also provides various Modern English courses on its YouTube channel and Facebook page.

Adolescents, youth, and job seekers now have the opportunity to learn English through blended learning methods, combining computers, apps on smart devices, the internet, and traditional learning techniques. They are introduced to various platforms where they can share knowledge with native speakers and other communities in social media groups.

SIRI also aims to develop strong relationships with voluntary organisations, such as BANDHAB in Denmark, to improve learners' listening and speaking skills through video chats with fluent and native English speakers. This exchange will provide students with the opportunity to understand each other’s social status, community development, lifestyle, and culture. Above all, it will foster friendly relations between people of different ethnicities.
